EXTENDED – Crafting a sonic urbanism: listening to non-human life

EN: Call for contributions: we are organising our next colloquium on sonic urbanism on the 18th of March 2021. The colloquium titled Crafting a sonic urbanism: listening to non-human life will take place on Gaîté Lyrique‘s web platform Plein Écran as an online event and will bring together theoreticians and practitioners, to present research or works that imagine or indeed enact new types of acoustic cohabitation and communication between human and non-human lifeforms. Each panel will have 30 minutes for discussion, led by a chair, intended to explore links between the presentations and the light they shed on the core concerns of the colloquium, rather than as Q&A’s. You are invited to read the full call and submit proposals to share research or creative projects by the extended deadline of 7th of December (end of the day). The selected projects will be announced in January. The event will take place in English and in French. 

FR: À vos calendriers: nous organiserons notre prochain colloque sur l’urbanisme sonique le 18 Mars 2021. Le colloque intitulé ‘Réaliser un urbanisme sonique: à l’écoute de la vie non-humaine’ prendra place en ligne sur plateforme Plein Écran de La Gaîté Lyrique et réunira chercheur·se·s et professionnel·le·s à venir présenter leurs recherches et travaux explorant comment les problématiques sonores ou les techniques dérivées de la musique ont été intégrées dans la recherche et l’aménagement urbains, et vice versa, mais aussi les communications académiques avec une approche critique de ces questions. Les présentations ne devront pas excéder 10 minutes. Elles pourront choisir de mettre l’accent sur la recherche ou sur des travaux de création spatiale ou sonore, partagés pour l’occasion en son et/ou en vidéo. Vous êtes invités à consulter l’appel à communication et à envoyer votre proposition, date limite d’envoi 7 Décembre 2021. Les discussions se dérouleront en anglais et en français.
