How can gender-based power dynamics, abstract and incarnated, be revealed and resisted? By what strategies can public spaces as civic infrastructure be de- or re-gendered?

The first of the three Movement Forum workshop, focusing on the theme of ‘gender and power’ will take place in London on September 18th and 19th. We are delighted to be partnered with an interdisciplinary team: Sara Wookey in collaboration with Ellie Cosgrave, fem_arc collective, Rebecca Faulkner, and à la sauvette architecture collective.

The workshop comprises a series of embodied temporary transformation of public spaces in the city. Movement Forum is an international mobile laboratory in London, Paris, and Lisbon, with three themes of Power and Gender, Wildness and the Non-Human, and Topographies of Body and Landscape in each city respectively.

Movement Forum is part of Future Architecture’s European Programme 2021. Curated by Fani Kostourou, John Bingham-Hall and Elahe Karimnia.
