A film exploring the idea of interspecies intersections: a dynamic sonic and spatial urban encounter to bring human and non-human species into sonic proximity and dialogue within the public spaces of the city. The work draws from the CRESSON methodology of ‘sonic effects’ in Jean-Francois Augoyard’s ‘Sonic Experience: a Guide to Everyday Sounds’.
Filmed in London during lockdown, the film aims to inspire a vision of the city where the needs of natural species and ecosystems are cultivated as part of its healthy and democratic function. In a quieter, slower city, the dynamic complexity and nuance of urban sound is revealed.
