Choreographing the City: at the city limits

As part of her Theatrum Mundi Research Fellowship, choreographer and dance scholar Adesola Akinleye is presenting a workshop and sharing of research. Her project Choreographing the City: as the city limits (see choreographing.city for more) is looking for the emerging vocabulary that connects ideas within dance-making and building/city-making, through interviews and collaborations with engineers and architects.

Ideas from this research are being explored in movement in a week-long residency generating exchange between dancers, musicians, engineers and musicians led by Akinleye with Dr John Bingham-Hall (Theatrum Mundi) and Dr. Ellie Cosgrave (UCL City Leadership Lab).

Concluding the week, this free workshop and sharing day invites engineers, architects, dance-artists, choreographers and anyone interested to take part in and feed back on the movement research. There will be two sessions during the day, each consisting of: warm-up; discussion and movement exploration; sharing of some the work we have been doing so far
